About 2 and half years ago, this place closed down and nothing ever moved into its place until last October when the Halloween store moved in for a month. It now sits alone again next to The Bon Ton in Camp Hill. Just behind Capital City Mall.
We produced this short film in conversation with the Big Idea Bookstore. This film piece is meant to highlight the connection between a small anarchist cooperative bookstore in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and social justice/sustainability. This bookstore is not only a location for books and the sharing of ideas that can lead to education, but it is also an advocate for equity and community building. This film told the story of four of the cooperative members and how the bookstore is helping to bring social justice to Pittsburgh. Our film shows a side to anarchy that many people do not see. Indeed, anarchism is easily applicable to everyday life, as well as to the building of a sustainable future. The film hopes to show that anarchists and sustainability minded individuals have a mutual desir...

Enjoy 60 minutes of soothing high fidelity binaural audio recorded at a library in Springfield, Pennsylvania, USA to provide relaxation, induce ASMR and somewhat serve as an audio archive (actual library not pictured). You'll hear me turning pages, removing and replacing books on the shelves, typing at a computer and walking around the library, all the while capturing the ambience, white noise (the constant hum is not the mics, but overhead lighting I believe) and various random conversations of other visitors. Headphones required for complete immersion. E.R. Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/ephemeralrift1 Twitter: https://twitter.com/EphemeralRift

Borders (UK) Ltd., aka Borders & Books etc., was established as a Borders Group subsidiary in 1998 and in 2007 became independent of the US company. At its peak after separation from the US parent, it traded from its 41 Borders and 28 BOOKS etc. shops, with over one million square feet of retail space taking around 8% of the retail bookselling market. In 2008 and 2009 the store numbers were reduced before the collapse of the chain. They also operated one single branch in Ireland, but closed this early in 2009. On 26 November 2009 it was announced that Borders (UK) had gone into administration. All stores closed on 24 December 2009. A typical Borders shop in the UK contained both a Paperchase stationery and Starbucks cafe concession. In addition, some branches also contained a RED5 gadg...
